From the North Shore:
Roslyn Road south, which becomes Washington Avenue in Garden City at Old Country Road. Continue on Washington Avenue, which becomes Washington Street in Hempstead, to James A. Garner Way.
From the South Shore:
Peninsula Boulevard into Hempstead to Washington Street. Turn left (north) onto Washington Street. Fourth traffic light on Washington Street is James A. Garner Way.
From Eastern and Western Long Island:
Southern State Parkway to Exit 19N (Peninsula Boulevard). Turn north onto Washington Street. Fourth traffic light on Washington Street is James A. Garner Way.
From the East
Hempstead Turnpike becomes Fulton Avenue in Hempstead. Turn right (north) onto Washington Street. Make first left which is James A. Garner Way.
From the West
Hempstead Turnpike becomes Fulton Avenue in Hempstead. Turn right (north) onto Washington Street. Make first left which is James A. Garner Way.
Mobile Collections may be requested via email at wlc.nassaulibrary.org, sent through the NLS or faxed to 516.481.6719.
Please provide us with the number of titles in each desired language and length of time you wish to hold the collection at your library. We also need the name of your library and a contact person. Spanish is currently the only language that contains non-fiction and fiction titles.

Patrons who live in the Village of Hempstead may apply for a library card. Bring in two (2) forms of identification with your name and address indicating that you live in Hempstead.

If you don't have a library card, you can still use digital services through the Nassau Library System (NLS) with a digital library card.
World Language Collection contains books in more than 20 languages. This collection serves the recreational reading needs of patrons, adults and children and is available to all libraries and patrons.

Titles may be requested either through the send list (a few specific titles for a specific patron) or as a
Mobile Collection. If a request is made through the send list, the W.L.C. titles are treated as any other
item sent to fill a hold.
If larger quantities for longer periods of time are required, the Mobile Collection allows you to tailor the items to the needs of your community.
